WHAHDYADO WEDNESDAY - Carpet Cleaning

What did you do??
I cleaned my carpets
I have to say I love my Hoover Steam Vac
The link to the one below is the new and improved version and from what I can tell the improvements are logical - they moved the on off button added a rotating brush to the small stair attachment  and they give more space between the collection bucket and the solution bucket- probably provides easier removal and insertion.
Looks like they also made the rotating brushes easily removable for easy cleaning.
Let me tell you I have had my version for probably close to 15 years and we replaced the brushes once-they didn't break they were just wearing down- it was  easy to do just  a purchase at a hoover vacuum store and a quick replace.
It is so easy to use and when you have these girls

Thoughts on Thursday- How Do Bloggers Do It?

Ok first it's not what u thought LOL this post is appropriate for all ages LOL

I just don't know how y'all do it??
Heres the thing-
There are so many blogs and bloggers out there that I admire and enjoy- you post projects and tips and recipes and host parties and are so gracious to your party goers and u do give aways - something goes on your blog every single day and on top of all that you have children and families and life outside of blog land that is busy and full and some of you even work or own business' on top of all this and I just don't get it how do you do it all oh wait a minute  y'all must have pocket fairies that do a million and one things for you??
So here's the thing -
Give a girl a clue - it's just me,my dh and our 2 doggie girls  and I struggle to get our meal on the table - daily exercise, keep up with the laundry, keep the house clean - let alone keep up with the blogs I enjoy-plan healthy meals- get a post on the blog every day - not to mention do a project or a craft and pinterest.... I am not even signed up on pinterest of facebook ...in one way that is good but don't be fooled I have favorite pinterest boards in a file on my mac but truthfully I haven't surfed there since last winter... how do you do it all???  Knit oh I want to knit ...
What are the secret clues I don't know- how do you balance- get it all done??  Do you all have maids?? Ohh giggle I know most of you don't lol.
Please bestow your most gracious wisdom upon me I am a sponge waiting to soak it up.

Tasty Tuesday No Bake Meatless Potato Skins and Illuminating Blogger Award

  First I have to say I don't know if I will ever have a really structured posed recipe post on my blog because it usually goes down this way- cooking our main meal between 11 am and noon and I think oh shoot this would make a good blog post let me grab my camera and I go from there lol... anyways This recipe was inspired by the skinny potato skins I saw on skinnytaste.com   These are so terrific DH and I really loved them and I was so glad I documented it after tasting them  they are super quick and easy also.

POTATO SKINS STUFFED WITH BROCCOLI & BUTTER BEANS

U will need 
1 can butter beans drained and rinsed till there are no more bubbles around the beans
2 small or 1 large clove garlic grated  through a hand grater
5 small russet potatoes
2 cups fresh broccoli floweretts 
old bay seasoning
sirrachi sauce
low fat cheese of your choice I used cheddar
and horseradish cheddar
1/2 cup water
1tbsp olive oil or canola oil not evoo
 (evoo doesn't have a high burning point)
U will also need your oven or a toaster oven or
 countertop Pizza Maker which is what I used 
And u will need a microwave

Ok here we go
put your rinsed fresh broccoli in a bowl with a touch of water and cover with wet paper towels put in microwave on high for 2 minutes
Remove and set aside
Scrub your potatoes poke in several places with a knife place in microwave and cover with wet paper towels and cook on high- mine were in 15 minutes times will vary according to individual microwave- if u can easily poke/ slide knife into each potato they are done
remove set aside
place oil in nonstick frying pan add your beans heat through while mushing and smashing them I used a heat approved spatula
add your garlic after most have been smashed
Sprinkle with Old Bay Seasoning stir
cut the cooked broccoli floweretts into small pieces(I used kitchen scissors) and add to bean mixture along with the water stir till creamy heat through turn off
cut potatoes in half scoop out centers save for another day
turn on your pizza maker to preheat brush with a thin layer of oil
(ovens and toaster ovens well that is your call I would refer to the skinny potato skin recipe on skinnytaste.com for suggestion on oven times and temps)
stuff each potato skin with the broccoli and bean mixture
top with cheese place in pizza maker close lid I pulled mine out after about 3 minutes cheese was melted and skins were firm but soft.
garnish with sirrachi sauce and voila a great meatless main dish
I may put my skins in empty for a few minutes before stuffing them to see if they crisp up more but maybe not but we both agreed this is going into heavy rotation especially since we are planning on going mostly meatless after vacation

20 minute meal Sauce n Shells

This sauce cooks up and is done by time the pasta cooks
with the help of pre cooked chicken italian sausage and hamburger that I pulled out of the freezer (explained here)


Ingredients
couple splashes olive oil
whole wheat or white pasta shells
2 cans organic stewed tomatoes
1 each tiny yellow orange red pepper 
(come in a bag bunch of lil sweet peppers)
salt and pepper to taste
1/2 carrot chopped
1/2 stalk celery chopped
1/4 lb lean organic hamburger pre cooked
2 links organic italian chicken sausage pre cooked
2 good dashes worcetishire sauce 
1 1/2 tsp sugar in the raw






directions
set your water to boil
heat a non stick pan once heated add your oil and peppers
 after a minute add your carrots 
after another minute add your celery
saute for 5 minutes 
add rest of ingredients stir
bring to a light bubble/boil then cover and simmer till pasta is done
serve with a salad or Oven Fried Egg Plant Parm

Lets Talk Shades of Grey Thoughts on Thursday

My thoughts today are on Grey Hair 
When is it time to let it go natural??

 I noticed in passing by a mirror that my roots are in a horrible shape but it wasn't an emotional catastrophe as it has been in the past... let me give you a bit of a back story Growing up I had the most beautiful natural auburn hair everyone always commented on how beautiful it was.  I first colored my hair in high school with Sun In and I also stupidly used Henna... those fads passed and my hair came back to it's natural beautiful auburn color.YAY lol
 I went to beauty school at 27 and began coloring my hair for fun or to try different products but that fad passed and my natural color came back.  YAY again. I started noticing my first greys in my mid 30's one here or there no big deal.  In my late 30's early 40's the strangest thing happened my hair started come in dark dark brown almost black and thus began the several year attempt at returning to my natural beautiful auburn.... sadly that was never achieved but a pleasant by product the greys got covered... then I started noticing a grey streak at my temple and then my roots were almost all grey.... this was too much too quick and I took matters into my own hands and went blonde... I am not a good blonde lol then strawberry blonde
in this color I never felt comfortable never like myself and the grey roots against this was horrid and thus began the emotional battle of what to do... keep coloring or let it go natural.  I think If I could have pulled off a short hair cut I might have considered it seriously the roots grew out to almost 4 inches and I was an emotional mess because I couldn't figure out a solution I was comfortable with... then one day I saw this girl with the most beautiful hair color I asked her who did it for her.. thinking I'll splurge give my husband a break from being my colorist and get her girl to do me just like her... dang thing is she did it herself with this mousse/foam hair color... ahhh better yet I can do my own save money and save my husband lol... well I totally forgot color theory/ science and with my base color being the strawberry blonde it grabbed the red undertones of her dark cherry black hair and I was Ronald Freaking McDonald no kidding that crazy red- well the only thing to do was have my husband give me an all over level 4 ash (the green undertones in the ash color neutralize the red)color job .....

and it turned out to the color below well this is 6 weeks grown out.... The answer came out of a big blunder that is a blessingand andThe bigger blessing is for some reason the grey roots aren't freaking me out anymore....they aren't devastating me I don't know if it is because my natural color is so similar to what I have now and I feel more like myself or if it is because of all the compliments I have gotten on the new dark color.... but I am free for now from the battle of finding an answer to the question... is it time to go GREY??.... Not Now Not for Me!! :-)

Tasty Tuesday Recipe Review

Hi everyone I hope y'all had a great weekend this is a review of a recipe that I got from a great site 
(I don't know how to turn Ginas button into a link)

I recently found the site and I really appreciate all the effort that Gina puts into creating the recipes and the website.
I have also filed over 100  of her recipes into my recipe box that she offers at the site.  The site also offers the ability to easily create a shopping list and offers a meal planner.... all this is free and for those that are tech savvy I think there is easy synching capabilities I however am behind the tech curve lol 
Anyways
is super easy to use and there are a gazillion recipes so go check it out
Reviewing the skinnytaste.com recipes I use was my idea
 I thought it would get at least one healthy recipe each week into my husband and I
I did ask Gina for permission to do so

The recipe I am reviewing today is
Sesame Encrusted Baked Chicken Tenders

The steps for the recipe were super easy
The ingredient list easily obtained and short
The whole prep and cook time was probably a total of 20 minutes tops.



I didn't toast my sesame seeds - next time I will to see if it makes a difference
I did use a combination of black and regular sesame seeds
I did a whole family size pack of tenders
I served it with a sweet chilli dipping sauce 
and 
I stir fried a package of frozen stir fry veggies and added some left over quinoa I had cooked the day before with sauteed zucchini and cherry tomatoes

it was super easy but better yet it was super tasty
